BLURB: Saoirse comes from a broken home. Her father is in jail and her mother is a meth addicted prostitute. She's 13 when she is caught by the Garda for marijuana and vandalizing. She's assigned a Juvenile Liaison Officer (JLO) to keep her out of trouble.  Her JLO, 25 year old Diarmuid, immediately sees himself in her. When she's 14, Diamuid leaves the city and cuts contact.  When Saoirse is 17 she gets rearrested and reconnects with Diarmuid when he becomes her JLO, again.

Wow. I don't mind an age-gap romance, or a second chance romance, and this was both. I enjoyed how the book went back and forth between past and present. At first, I was a little annoyed by it because I wanted it to be more of a part one and part two. But, as I continued reading, I understood why it was laid out the way it was.  If the past became a part one and present became a part two I don't think I would have enjoyed the story as much.
