SUMMARY: David was 18 when he got 16 year old Sylvia pregnant from a one nighter. They never had a relationship and David fell into alcoholism very early in his life.  His band began to gain traction not long after his daughter, Emma, was born.  He was a part-time parent to Emma while she was younger, only home between tours and often black out drunk. When Emma is 15 she get's in a car accident causing injuries. David leaves tour only and reconnects with Sylvia.  A second-chance romance between two people who only talked enough to coordinate coparenting with their daughter

As a rule, I don't usually like books with kids. I often also hate second chance romances. I really only began reading this story because it was the second in the series and I like to read standalone series in full. I enjoyed this, and I loved the characters. David really had to redeem himself, though. I really appreciate that he didn't make excuses for his past, he just owned his mistakes. It helped that Sylvia was forgiving without being too forgiving.
