BLURB: Adeline was in the wrong place/wrong time when she witnesses a murder while helping a drunk girl in the bathroom.  When the "Merchants" see she was there, they take her as their own. She is held captive by the four boys before she joins their dangerous world.

Spoilers ahead:

I really struggled with how to rate this. I was captivated from the beginning and I really enjoyed the first 90% of the story. Then...the revelation. I understand that first person narratives are also known as the unreliable narrative. I know that. But I was really frustrated when Adeline, the Heroine, was revealed to be a closet bad guy.  I felt like the first 90% of the story she had been working to deceive the boys and deceive the reader. I don't like feeling deceived right at the end of a good story. It made me feel like everything I had read was a lie, especially when I went back and noticed there were no signs of the revelation. I felt like the author was writing the story, almost finished, and thought "oh this is a great plot twist". I didn't like it.

However, I'm invested. I'll read the next book, in fact, I'm already 50% of the way through it. the first part of this book interested me enough that I'm looking past the last 10% and that's why I'm rating it 4.5 stars and not 3.
